The Bulldog Club of America (BCA) is the parent club for bulldogs in the United States.  It owns the standard for the breed and coordinates the activities of all member bulldog clubs in the country.  The BCA is divided into 8 regions for administrative purposes.  Each of the  Divisions elects its own officers and board of directors and elects its own councilors to represent it in the legislative body of the BCA.

Division I of the BCA represents bulldogs in the Northeastern states from Maine to Pennsylvania and from the Canadian Border to Delaware.   To become a member of BCA, you must apply through your local division.   In addition to joining the BCA, you may also wish to join a local bulldog club.  The local clubs have meetings, put on matches and dog shows, provide additional educational and training opportunities and give you a chance to meet and develop friendships with people in your area who share a common love of the breed.  Information on the BCA and  local clubs in the Division, how to become members, local activities, learning more about the breed and dog shows, bulldog rescue and other related bulldog related items of interest can be reached by clicking on the links above.

The Bulldog Club of America is committed to the preservation of our Noble breed, by maintaining a standard of excellence for the guidance of breeders, owners, and judges.  We seek to improve the breed by encouraging efforts aimed at producing dogs with the degree of excellence established in the Standard for the Breed.  We also seek to encourage interest in the competitive public showing of bulldogs in conformation and performance events under the auspices of the American Kennel Club. BCA works for the general good of breeders, owners and exhibitors of bulldogs.

Membership in BCA and local clubs is open to anyone over the age of 18 with a love of these quirky, affectionate dogs who is willing to listen to the steady sound of snoring and who doesn't mind having a 50 pound dog who thinks he is a lap dog.  The breed is not for everyone.  If you want a companion on your 10 mile runs, this is not the breed for you.  But if you are looking for a companion who will reward your love with endless affection and a lot of laughs, then you might want to make a bulldog part of your household.

The organization and structure of the Bulldog Club of America is explained in greater detail on the BCA web site, which can be found by clicking on the BCA link above The BCA web contains other valuable information that you might want to review.
